Ordination of the Bishop Designate Fr. Brendan Leahy: On Sunday, April 14th Fr Brendan Leahy will be ordained as the new Bishop of Limerick diocese. It is a new beginning for us all, and so it’s appropriate that we celebrate it in Eastertide – the season of thanksgiving and of hope! Like the early Christians, we have seen and know Christ; and now we trust that he walks with us in this new time. We invite everyone in this diocese to take time this week to ask God’s blessing on our diocese, on our leaders, and especially on Fr. Brendan.
Prayer for Bishop Designate Fr. Brendan Leahy:
Heavenly Father, you sent Jesus to shepherd your people and the Holy Spirit to make your people one. Send your Holy Spirit to anoint our new Bishop-designate Brendan Leahy, that he may continue the work of renewal in the Church and unite our parishes, priests and people in love, truth and wisdom. Give him a true shepherd’s heart like that of Jesus, that he may give strength to the weak, heal the broken-hearted, console the lonely, bring back the wandering and be a power against the evil of our day, We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Thank you: Carol Noonan, Clounleharde, wishes to thank all who supported her in her recent fundraiser at the Knockdown Arms for the benefit of Aid Cancer Treatment. The amount raised was €6580.00. Carol acknowledges that without the huge support and co-operation of the Knockdown Vintage Committee and the recently formed Estuary Macra Group the event would not have been the huge success it was. Thanks to all who sponsored so many prizes and a huge thanks to all who supported the fundraiser in any way. Aid Cancer Treatment, whose headquarters is in CorkUniversityHospital deeply appreciates your generosity in these recessionary times.
