LAUNCH OF BROCHURE AND WEBSITE: A day and evening of events and activities took place recently to celebrate the launch of the Glin Heritage Trails Brochure and the new Glin website,www.glin.info. During the day there was a ‘Treats on the Trails’ walk where dozens of children and their families completed the Knights Walk and were met along the way by the Easter Bunny who distributed chocolates and treats to all. Later that evening in Conways the heritage trails brochure was officially launched by Madam Olda FitzGerald who was accompanied by her daughters Catherine and Nesta and her son-in-law Dominic West. The Madam gave a heartfelt speech about how proud the late Knight of Glin, Desmond FitzGerald, would have been to see how much progress has been made since the idea of Heritage trails in Glin Castle Demesne was first mooted. The Madam thanked Glin Development Association who ‘energised the Knight’s vision’ in creating the trails and she especially acknowledged and expressed her delight with this latest step of producing the brochures to showcase the trails and all that Glin has to offer.
Mary McGrath, Life President and longest serving member of Glin Development Association officially unveiled the Glin website, www.glin.info and spoke of her delight at being involved in so many worthy projects over the years in Glin. Thanks to the sponsors, Shakeel from Glin Grub for very generously providing the food at the launch in Conways and Ben Mullane for the Treats on the Trails.
