GLIN CASTLE AFTERNOON TEA PARTY AND GARDEN TOUR: Tickets are now available for the Glin Afternoon Tea Party and Garden Tour taking place on Sunday the 4 August.  Please contact any member of Glin Development or Brides Boutique.  Last year proved outstanding success and we would advise people to book tickets to avoid disappointment.

GLIN RED CROSS COFFEE MORNING: Glin Red Cross will host a coffee morning in O’Shaughnessys Bar and Kitchen on Sunday 7 July at 11.30am after Mass.  We are hoping for a good turn out on the morning and your support of this worthy cause is greatly appreciated.  Anyone interested in doing some baking for the event can contact Marie on 086 8691821 or for any other enquires.

GLIN COMMUNITY GAMES: attended the Limerick Athletics Finals in Mungret on Sat 22 and Sun 23 June.  We had a small but enthusiastic group.  David Sheehan and Maurice Fitzgerald competed in U10 100m.  Mai Fitzgerald and Danielle McKenna competed in U12 100m, Mai came 2nd in her heat and qualified for Semi Final on Sunday but was not available to attend.  Ben Sheehan competed in U12 100m and qualified in his heat but was not available to attend his Semi Final on Sunday.  Kuba Nizinski and Nathan Wright competed in U12 600m, Nathan came 3rd and qualified for the Final on Sunday.  Nathan ran well in the final but the competition from members of recognised Athletics Clubs took the medals.  On Sunday Morning John Daniel Hichie competed in the in the U14 Long Jump and Amy Adams competed in the U14 Long Jump.  Congratulations and well done to all who participated. Community Games is all about community participation with that in mind we are looking for volunteers who have an interest in any of the community Games events but especially the athletics to assist in the training.  As we saw last weekend Glin’s children have great potential and with proper training they could be bringing home the medals next year!  Anyone that is interested please contact David Fitz 0862472297 or Marie McKenna 0863739623.

CLOVERFIELD DAYCARE CENTRE: Open Days for July 2013, Thursday 11 July – Groups attending will be Askeaton, Foynes, Shanagolden and Tarbert.  Thursday 25 July – Groups attending will be Athea, Glin, Moyvane, Ballylongford, Asdee and Loughill.  If you wish to find out more information please contact Una or Meg on (068) 26033.

TRI-GLIN: A Sprint distance Triathlon will take place in Glin on the 20 July, consisting of a 750m swim, a 20k cycle and a 6k run.  For more information contact Marie Geohegan on 087 2418562 or Joanne Culhane on 087 9716199.

RED CROSS: The Glin branch of the Red Cross are actively seeking new members as well as encouraging existing members to consider re-training in CFR (Cardiac First Response).  Members who joined up with then Glin Branch will be contacted on a gradual basis to encourage same.  This is an invaluable skill, as it involves treating members of our community who may suffer cardiac arrest.  As a Cardiac First Responder, when you answer a call for help, you can be confident that you have given that person the best possible chance of recovery.  You have provided the initial links in the chain of survivalTraining for same will run over a two night event, Tuesday 9 and Thursday 11 July from 7.30 – 10.30.  The cost of same is E25 for Red Cross Members and E50 for non members.  It is possible to sign up to the Red Cross on the night.  Phone Ann on 0879186556 to book a place as numbers will be limited.

Glin Rovers F.C. have a correct score card competition in Pubs and Shops at the moment for the Munster Hurling Final between Limerick and Cork.  100 Euro to the person with correct scorecast etc.

Glin Rovers FC will be offering a yearly season ticket to its lotto in the coming weeks. a Season Ticket will be 85 Euro and all subscribers will be entered in our lotto draw each week for a 12 month period. Our Lotto is the main source of the income for the club and all support is greatly appreciated.
