Madam Olda Fitzgerald, wife of the late Knight of Glin, Desmond Fitzgerald, has once again given permission for the local development association to hold a fundraising Afternoon Tea Party and Garden Tour at Glin Castle to help finance the completion of the Glin Heritage Trails.
Pictured at the launch of the Afternoon Tea Party and Garden Tour are Madam Olda FitzGerald and members of Glin Development Association.
Bride’s Boutique of Glin will be sponsoring a prizes throughout the day for the best hats or headpieces. During the afternoon, there will be a jewellery display by Keane’s Jewellers, who will also offer a fabulous door prize and other prizes during the day. Entertainment will be provided by the Meehan Ensemble.
The event is being organised as part of ongoing fundraising for the continued development of the Glin Heritage Trails, which officially opened in August 2012. The late Knight of Glin, in a final act of generosity, gave permission for a walking trail to be developed through Glin Castle Demesne and Glin Development Association has now developed a series of heritage walking trails in and around Glin.
“People are really looking forward to getting into the spirit of things and having a really enjoyable day with a unique experience of visiting Glin Castle and Gardens,” development association chairman John Anthony Cullane said.
Due to huge demand for tickets, people are advised to book early for the event; telephone Siobhan on 068 34027 or Bride on 068 34331.
