The Diocese of Limerick: An Illustrated History

A beautiful new book has been created to celebrate the history, place and people of the Diocese of Limerick.  Bishop Leahy in the foreward describes this book as ‘like an Acts of the Apostles for our diocese’.  It is presented in two parts: The History of the Diocese, and the Parishes of the Diocese. The 224-page volume is the work of retired professor of history at Mary Immaculate College, Liam Irwin.

The book will be launched next Monday night by Bishop Brendan Leahy and Dr Pat Wallace, former director of the National Museum and native of Askeaton at 6pm on December 16 in Mary Immaculate College. The book features the contribution to the life of the diocese of both clerics and lay people.

The book is available in Glin from Fr Crawford.
