The Joy of Reading

The most wonderful thing that reading offers is a peep into another world. But it is also good for your mental health. We feed our bodies with food, our minds with reading and our spirits with prayer or meditation. We need to balance all three to maintain good health. When you pick up a book and lose yourself in it, it becomes a temporary escape from our routine life. Sometimes we get all tense and frustrated and sometimes just downright bored with life. This is when reading comes to our rescue and we should welcome it with open arms if we truly want to be happy and alive. It also offers us a chance to see the world from someone else’s eyes, thus opening our minds to new possibilities.
