Scoil Fonn agus Amhráin 2014: The County Limerick Day for Scoil Fonn is Amhrán take place in

St. Fergus’ National School, Glin On Sunday 6th

at 11.00 a.m. and finish at 4.00 p.m. with a break for lunch. Students should bring a packed lunch

with them. Registration (Fee €10) will take place at 10.30 a.m. Comhaltas an Ghleanna will host

this workshop.

Milford Hospice Fundraising Committee: wish to thank all those who contributed so generously

to their recent Church Gate collection. A total of €1,061 was collected. They extend a special

“thank you” to the ladies of Glin ICA who organised the collection.

Glin Library: There is an exhibition of Limerick Lace in Glin Library which is a “must see”.

Geraldine Cahillane of Ballyhahill/Loughill ICA has kindly agreed to show her items of Limerick

Lace which she has been working on for the past two years and for which she recently won a

National Craft’s Award within the ICA. Limerick Federation of ICA have been holding classes to

revive the art of Limerick Lace and Geraldine has been an enthusiastic worker since classes began.

All welcome to come in and admire the detail or her work which is astounding.

Tidy Glin Up: Plastic bags have been left with Peg at Glin Library which people from various

townlands affected by roadside litter can fill and return to courthouse for disposal. With the

evenings getting longer maybe some neighbours can take a roadside walk and chat while collecting

up some litter.
