Glin Library: The library is one of the village’s greatest assets and, thankfully, is appreciated by the many people who use it either for books or internet access or art and craft exhibitions. Since it opened in 2005 it has issued over 42,000 books. Due to cutbacks in recent years it does not stock as many new titles as it used to but anybody can request a title at any time and every effort will be made to get it for the customer. Now that the city and county libraries have merged there is a greater pool and choice of books. In order to ensure that our library continues to thrive it is very important that it is used as much a possible so Peg encourages anybody who has let their membership lapse to consider returning and availing of this FREE facility in the town. The school classes too are always welcome and encouraged to visit. She also asks to return any books which may be outstanding for a long time. This is necessary so that all books are available to all readers. There is no fine, just gratitude for the return. Thanks.

Glin Baby & Toddler Group: would like to thank all those who have continued to show their support to our group. We will be open 3 years on May 12th and without the support of those that attend every week we wouldn’t be here – thank you. We are open every Thursday from 10am -til 12 noon in Coel Corbrai Hall. Refreshments provided for adults & children. E3 per family. Everyone welcome.

Glin Red Cross: The Glin Branch of the Red Cross are running a training course on the use of the Defibrillator. It will run in May, date to be confirmed. Anyone interested in training please contact Marie Fitzgerald at 0868691821 or Anne Horan at 0879186556.

Keep Fit Classes: with Colm Hassett continue in Ceol Corbrai Community Hall on Monday mornings from 10.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. and Wednesday evenings from 8.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. For further details telephone: 0851111617.

Tidy Glin Up: Plastic bags have been left with Peg at Glin Library which people from various townlands affected by roadside litter can fill and return to courthouse for disposal. With the evenings getting longer maybe some neighbours can take a roadside walk and chat while collecting up some litter.
