Glin Development Association Ltd.

At a recent meeting of Glin Development Association, plans for the summer season were outlined. As part of the 5 year plan agreed with Limerick County Council, improvements at Glin Pier are continuing. The access road, parking and toilet facilities, tree planting, lawn maintenance, public lighting, seating and heritage walk development have all been completed over the past few years. The pontoon has been put in place for the summer and the lifeguards take up their duties on July 1st.

We have now agreed a plan with the Council to begin works on the N69 across from the Pier Road entrance where the Glin sign is situated. This area is quite unsightly at present and the proposed works should enhance the approach road into Glin.
The erosion along the shoreline of the N69  has caused a temporary closure to part of the Knockaranna Walk. We have met with County Council engineers and they have agreed to addressed the problem over the next few months
We continue to develop the Town Park. The children playground is a favourite spot for the children and it is great to see tourists and locals enjoying the facilities in the park.Over the next few weeks Glin Development Association will be installing some outdoor adult equipment in the park to accommodate the adults and parents.
