Reidy Cup 2nd Rd:
Glin Rovers B V Ferry Rangers 2-0 ( Oakley Costello & Oliver Wallace)
Youths result:
Feenagh 5 – 5 GB Rovers
Scorers: Ger Stack, Eoin Wolfe, Karol O’ Sullivan, Lee O’ Sullivan.
We started the game very poorly and found ourselves one down inside 5 mins. We equalized almost immediately through a great finish from Ger. We were again sloppy at the back and found ourselves 2-1 shortly after. Eoin soon equalised which left the score 2 each after 22 mins. We had a disastrous end to the first half where we conceded goals from two corners with some very poor defending again. Feenagh scored a fantastic free kick on the stroke of half time to leave us 5-2 at the break.
The 2nd half was completely different attitudes of our big players changed and you could see a bite in the lads that they knew they were still capable of getting a result. We got back into the game with a well taken pen from Karol with still half hour to play. Finbarr Carrig (making his debut) finished well to leave us just one goal behind with ten mins left and with 5 mins to go Lee O’Sullivan finished expertly to get us back on level term. Our hard work was nearly undone when a feenagh player shot from 25 yards out which was destent for the top corner only somehow Ronan managed to get across his goal and make an unbelievable finger tip save over the bar. We very nearly won it with the last kick put for brave keeping.
All in all a good result considering where we were at ht. A lot of work to be done as the lads know themselves. Training continues weds night in Bally at 7.
