One of the most treasured items in the library, where local history is concerned, is the collection of Ballyguiltenane Rural Journals. So it is a sad day to hear that the editor from the beginning in 1977 until 2013, Thomas J O’Donoghue, has passed away today. He had planned on producing it again this year and had a lot of the work done but other plans were in store for him. Deepest sympathies to his wife Delia and two sons. May he rest in peace. He left a huge legacy of local history.

Here he is in 1989 with fellow writers P. McSweeney RIP, P Ó Cearrbhail RIP, Pat Brosnan, Gabriel Fitzmaurice, P.Faley RIP and TJ O ‘Donoghue RIP.
