The library was pleased, on Tuesday 24th, to host Barry Conway from California who spoke about the people from West Limerick and North Kerry who set up homes in the Ottawa Valley in the 1800’s. These people kept alive the Irish culture, and customs, including recipes, in the Ottawa Valley. He donated three books on this theme – Kerry chain and Limerick Link to the library. These reference books are available for reading within the library.
The library will be closed on this Friday March 27th as Peg will be attending the national final of the ICA Creative Writing competition in An Grianan. Co. Louth for which she has been short-listed.
