Estuary Credit Union: As & from    9th October 2015 the Glin & Tarbert Credit Union office hours on Friday evenings only  will change to  OPEN AT       5.30 PM    &     CLOSE   AT      7.00 pm.

Christmas Concert 2015: The High Kings will perform in Glin Church on Thursday 17th of December. The High Kings will be touring the United States over the next few months and Glin Development are delighted to announce that they will be in Glin Church for our annual fund raising concert on the Thursday before Christmas.  Tickets are now on sale at the usual outlets, from any member of Glin Development Association or contact Siobhan at 087 9944 245.

Glin Community Games: Glin Community Games Committee invite all parents of primary and secondary school children to our AGM which will be held at Conways on Wednesday Oct 7th at 8.30pm. This gives parents the opportunity to ensure that the community games spirit lives on in the parish through the organisation of activities that facilitates the development of their children’s social skills and competitive spirit – as our motto extolls ‘a healthy mind in a healthy body’. Activities range from chess, quizzes, art, drama, music to gymnastics, athletics, tag rugby, indoor soccer and much more. All are welcome, please come along on the night and keep the community games spirit going in the parish.

Enterprise Town:  Askeaton has been selected to be one of Bank of Irelands Enterprise Towns for 2015.  This covers the area from Glin to Kildimo and offers an opportunity for local Business, Clubs, Societies and Schools to showcase and sell their wares to the public.  This event will be held  at end November  in  Askeaton. Celebrity Guest speakers will be in attendance at this event.  To hear more about the plans for the Enterprise Town initiative, and get involved or register your business everyone  is  invited to attend a public meeting next Monday night (Oct. 5th)  at 6 o clock in the Community  Hall in Askeaton.  Poster in the Church Porch gives further details.

Glin Library: Following on from the 10th birthday celebrations there is a display in Glin Library of Art from the children of Ballyguiltenane and Glin which they did for the Fleadh last May. It is a lovely colourful display. Now that the Races and Ploughing and Coursing is over it is a good time to visit the library and start off your winter reading. All welcome.​

Glin ICA: will hold their first whist drive of the new season on Tuesday next the 6th October at 8.30 p.m.  Looking forward to meeting all our players and new players welcome.

Thank You: A big Thank You to the people of the parish for their wonderful generosity during the recent collection for refugees.  Also thanks to Glin GAA for the use of the Club House.  A Special mention to Conor and Seamus for transporting all the supplies to Cork.  Hopefully this will be of some small help to the many thousands of people who are suffering.

St. Fergus N.S Parent’s Association are holding a Coffee morning with raffle in Barrett’s Lounge on Sunday 11th October after 11am mass.  All funds raised will go towards new flooring in the school halla.  Your support is greatly appreciated.

Altar Servers: as a Thank You to last year’s Altar Servers, for their dedication and help during the year, they will be taken for a treat on Friday next the 9th October after Tarbert Comprehensive School finishes – approximately 4.00 p.m.  Details will be given to those involved during the week.

Glin Baby & Toddler Group open every Thursday from 10am to 12 noon in Ceol Corbrai Hall. New faces are very very welcome. As always we will have tea, coffee, toast and biscuits for the adults and juice, toast and fruit for the children. €3 per family. We are currently supporting 5 year old Leah Carmody through  the “Tarbert Fundraising for Leah Carmody Benefit”  and have on sale purple bracelets for €2 – please support if you can.   We look forward to seeing you.

Social Dancing: starting in Tarbert on Friday 9th October from 7 pm to 9 pm.  Waltz, Jiving, Fox trot, quick step etc.  Come along and join the fun – cost only €5.  (No venue given for newsletter).
