Glin Tidy Towns

Glin town is looking great at the moment. Thanks to all the residents and businesses who have put out lovely window boxes and hanging baskets. They look lovely and really brighten up the place. A lot of houses and business premises have been painted during the fine weather and are looking great. Cleaning and weeding is still a work in progress and anyone who would like to join the cause can meet at the Courthouse on Saturday mornings from 10am till midday. We also meet on Wednesday evenings at the now later time of 8 to 9pm. These times will be scaled back after the end of June. The Tidy Town judges will be arriving to Glin to adjudicate any day now!

Thanks to all our many volunteers throughout the parish who constantly litter pick their own and other areas. This voluntary commitment is invaluable in keeping Glin and town lands litter free. There are still some areas in the town that need weeding, (street verges), and hopefully these areas will be tackled before end of June. If there are areas that are missed, please bring to the attention of the Tidy Towns. Thanks also to the men on the Tus scheme, who do great work around Glin keeping green areas cut and hedges strimmed etc. Please be mindful if you are a dog owner, take a pooper scooper on walks with you to clean up after your dog! All together we can help keep Glin looking clean and cared for, for everyone to enjoy. Please come along to help out if you are free on any of the times mentioned above, as many hands make light work. BEST OF LUCK GLIN IN THE TIDY TOWNS COMPETITION.
