CHY 4 Certs:  Anyone who has not yet submitted and wishes to submit their CHY4 Form to Fr. Crawford are asked to do so at their earliest convenience.  Thank you.

Church Gate Collection: Thank you to all who supported the Ballyguiltenane National School Parents Association Church Gate Collection which was held last weekend.  €557.43 was the total amount collected.

Christmas Concert: Glin Development Association is happy to announce our date for the annual Christmas Concert in the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Bagatelle will perform many of their hit songs, with John Sheahan of the Dubliners as special guest. The concert this year will be held on Friday 16th December.  Tickets priced at €25.00 and are available in all the local shops or by phoning 087 994 4245.

Art Exhibition: St. Fergus’ NS Glin will host a Fundraising Art Exhibition in the school halla on Wednesday November 30 at 7.30pm.  Local artists have kindly donated a piece of art to be sold on the night.  Paintings will be mounted and on view with a recommended price attached.  This will be a wonderful evening for adults with both the school and buyers benefiting from the sale of works.  Light refreshments will be available on the night.  Thank you to the artists who have already contributed to the exhibition.

Congratulations: to Ballyguiltenane NS who won Division 5 Allianz Cumann na mBunscol West Limerick Football Final for the first time beating Kilfinny NS by 6-3 to 5-2.  There were great scenes of joy by both children and parents.  Thanks to Dermot Mulvihill and principal Mary Kennelly who gave up their time to train the team it was much appreciated and they celebrated on their return to school.

Glin Post Office: Support your local post office by paying your local property tax (LPT) at the post office.  Bring your bill or PPS number and pay in full, weekly or monthly.

Irish Windsurfing Association: Congratulations to Paul Ryan, Ballinamuddagh on winning the overall first prize in the 2016 Silver Fleet Competition in Kinvara, Co. Galway.  The annual series included races in Newtownards Co. Down, Downings in Co. Donegal and Castlegregory in Co. Kerry.

Glin Library will be closed on Friday 18th November. Any pieces of art towards the Glin School Art exhibition on November 30th can be dropped into the library for collection by the school. The Going for Gold Trophy, recently won by Glin Tidy Towns, is presently on display in the library. All welcome to call  during opening hours as follows: Tuesday 10 to 1 and 3 to 5, Wednesday 10 to 1 and 6 to 8. Thursday 11 to 2. Friday normally 10 to 1 and 3 to 5 but closed on the 18th.

Beginners’ and Continuation Meditation & Mindfulness Classes:  Cloverfield Daycare Centre.

8 week course starting Monday, November 28th-December 19th 2016 (4 weeks) and resuming Monday, January 9th-30th (4 weeks) 2017. Santa’s Grotto: The Parents Association of St. Fergus’ NS will once again welcome Santa Claus to their Grotto at the Christmas Craft Fair in Ceol Corbrai Community Hall on Saturday December 3rd – the same day as the annual Old Fair Day in Glin.  This is a great opportunity for the children to meet Santa and deliver their wish list while helping to raise funds for the school.  More details will be published over the coming weeks.

Christmas Craft Fair/Old Fair Day: continues to follow tradition with the Old Fair Day being held on the 1st Saturday in December, this year its Saturday Dec 3rd.  As with previous years, Ceol Corbrai Community Hall will be open and invites those wishing to purchase a table for E15 on the day to contact John Healy 087 123 7950.  The Christmas Craft Fair will open its doors at 11am where you will be able to wonder around and make some beautiful Christmas purchases.

Glin Defibrillator Training: Dates are now in place for Defibrillator training however some dates are completely fully booked.  Please visit our facebook page to view available dates running from mid Nov through to January or call Marie FitzGerald 086 869 1821.  Training is E25 and covers CPR, Infant CPR and Defibrillator Training.

Ceol Corbrai Community Hall Classes as follows:

Irish Dance Lessons: for beginners are held every Tuesday evening during term time with Johnny Cronins School of Irish Dancing.  For more info contact Johnny 087 115 1461 or Sarah 087 944 7794.

Taekwondo Classes: Every Wednesday from 6pm – 7pm.

Church Gate Collection: The Glin Defibrillator committee will hold their church gate collection this weekend on Saturday and Sunday November 12 and 13.  Your support for this collection will be greatly appreciated.

Congratulations: to GB Rovers players Cillian Mulvihill, David Mulvihill, Lee Mulvihill, Charlie McDonagh, Aiden Healy and Tom Healy who successfully made it through 4 difficult rounds of trials to make it into the U11 Limerick Desmond School Boys League. This is a tremendous achievement for these boys who worked so hard.  The club, the boys trainers and their parents are extremely proud of them – best of luck and continue to work hard lads.

Glin Book Club: Meets on the first Friday of each month at 8pm.  Books will be democratically chosen by the group and cover an eclectic range, primarily those which make one think and provoke discussion. Books are acquired independently. Please join the Facebook group for selected book title and next meeting location.

Glin Baby & Toddler Group: runs every Thursday morning during school term time in Ceol Corbrai Hall from 10am til 12 noon. This takes place in a lovely friendly environment that both adults and children enjoy. €3 per family. Refreshments provided. Lots of toys, ride-ons and a beautiful timber house with kitchen for all the children to use.

GB Rovers U6 Soccer: training continues to take place on Friday evenings in Ceol Corbrai Community Hall in Glin from 6pm. €2 per child.

Pilates: Wednesdays in Glin GAA club house at 7.30pm. All levels of ability welcome. For more info contact Mark 087 779 8437

The Abha Bhan Parish Park Committee in Loughill/Ballhahill have now changed the Bingo Fundraising Event to Sunday 27th Nov due to Gerald Griffin’s fantastic win recently.  Their next game in the Munster Championship will coincide with the Bingo Fundraiser. As this will be a huge occasion for the parish we have decided to postpone our Bingo Fundraiser. There is over €2,600 in prizes. Double bingo book €15 and Single €12. 12 bingo games in total with lots of spot prizes on the night. Please support. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday 27th November at 3pm in Ceol Corbrai Hall, Glin.
