Parish Newsletter: 17th/18th December 2016.

Please note Mass times on Christmas Eve:

Childrens Mass: 6.00 p.m.

Vigil Mass: 8.00 p.m.

Glin Red Cross Defibrillator No: 0876230032

Christmas Greetings: The people of the parish would like to wish Fr. Crawford a happy and holy Christmas and a peaceful new year.

Bogus Mass Bouquets:  it has emerged that many pre-signed Mass cards available in retail outlets contain indistinguishable signatures or the signature of a deceased priest.  These are not genuine Mass Bouquets and as a result a Mass will not be offered for the intentions and the Diocese accepts no responsibility for these Mass Bouquets.

The Parish Envelope Boxes: are now ready for distribution.  May I again ask those who have been doing this for many years to help again this year.  The Boxes for each area can be collected at the Church (downstairs room).  I thank you for this service.  The “Envelope System” enables me to record your donation to the church and your contributions to the Priest of the Parish, and so be accountable for Parish income.  It also enables me to reclaim a Tax Rebate each year.   We have delivered envelopes to every home in the past, however many parishioners have not been using them so this year I am reviewing the system and I am only sending boxes to those who are returning them.  If you have not received the envelopes and would like to use a box of envelopes this year, please ask to be included.  With thanks, Fr. T. Crawford.

Glin Development Association: Glin was recently crowned overall winners of Limerick City and County Going for Gold 2016. This was a fantastic achievement for the parish as it recognises the hard work and commitment of the local community throughout the year.   Glin Development Association recently made a special Pride of Place Award 2016 presentation to Willie Wall of Church Street Glin. Willie spends many hours keeping the streets of the village clean and tidy and Glin Development, on behalf of all the residents, wish to thank Willie for his many hours of community work.

Glin Going Strong Club: would like to remind you that the Going Strong Club will be holding its Christmas Party on the 19th December at 2.00 p.m. in Ceol Corbrai Hall.
