Glin, a jewel in West Limerick…

Glin is nestled quietly on the N69 close to the Kerry border on the coastal  drive to Listowel.  There are lots of amenities in Glin, everything from walking, hiking, fishing, swimming, tennis, even a playground for the children and a wonderful park where one can sit and look out at the glorious vista of the Shannon Estuary. Glin is especially beautiful in this glorious weather, and there are plenty of places to visit for lunch or evening meals and you can get beautiful food at very good value.  Glin has lots of shops and businesses; hairdressers, beautician, chemist, medical clinic,  restaurant, bed and breakfasts, takeaway, pubs (some who provide meals), grocery stores, garage, co-op store,  furniture shop, gym, bric-a-brac store, general hardware, bicycle and toy shop, credit union, the list is endless. If you happen to visit on a Friday morning, you will enjoy our Friday morning market, where fresh baked goods, flowers and shrubs, fresh vegetables and fresh fish are all available to purchase.  Why not visit and try one of our Heritage Trails, all with wonderful scenery and sample the atmosphere of a bygone era of the Knights of Glin.  Glin is our little jewel, loved by all who live here, and welcome and open to all who might like to visit!
