Glin Rovers… WE HAVE A WINNER !!!!
Congratulations to Paul Read who has won this round of the Glin Rovers Last Man Standing. Paul is one of the punters from the Harp and Hound bar in Mystic, Connneticut who recently visited Glin during the Coursing weekend.
It was an exciting finish tothe competition. 13 punters got knocked out during the 3:00 Saturday games because of Southampton, Leicester and (mainly) Newcastle). This left Paul and Mary Hogan as the only two left. Paul had picked Liverpool who were on the 5:30 Saturday game and they won easily at West Ham. That left Mary Hogan who had picked Watford away to Everton in the Sunday game. This game was a bit of a rollercoaster. After a boring nil all first half, Watford came out with all guns blazing and scored 2 goals. With 67 minutes gone and 2 goals up Mary must have been thinking of what team to pick next week but Everton made a big comeback and ended up winning 3 -2 handing the competition to Paul Read.

Once again many thanks to all the punters, the sellers and the committee that have made this round of the LMS such a success again. It’s a pity more people didn’t get a longer run this time around, the carnage in Week 1 was unprecedented.
Well done to Paul Read. Apparently the party in the Harp and Hound is already well under way.
