On approximately Monday last (19th Feb), bags of household rubbish were dumped at the back of Glin pier (west side). These bags were subsequently broken open by scavenging crows and wind and tide spread it all across a wide area of shoreline.
A one ton bag was filled by our Community Worker Des Scanlon, who works under the TUS scheme. It took Des six hours to clean up this disgraceful mess. It is a health hazard to humans and wildlife alike. THIS HAS TO STOP!
We are asking walkers and public alike to be extremely vigilant and report any sightings of illegal household rubbish dumping. Please contact any member of Glin Development and Tidy Towns. Thank you. Photos of same can be viewed on glintidytowns FB page and on Glin.info.
