Community Bee Monitoring Workshop

This workshop will provide training in bee identification, surveying and recording techniques. It will consist of an indoor presentation and an outdoor practical session at a nearby wildflower habitat. This is a beginnerβs level workshop. It will introduce you to the fascinating world of bees and the importance of bee monitoring in Ireland. This workshop is ideal for community groups such as Tidy Towns.

Kilcornan Butterfly monitoring workshop
An Taisce is offering a free workshop on how to identify and monitor butterflies in accordance with the methods laid out by the National Biodiversity Data Centre.
Participants will be trained in butterfly monitoring and in becoming citizen scientists with the potential to contribute to the NBDC’s Irish Butterfly Atlas.
Participants will meet in Kilcornan Community Centre for an introduction to Ireland’s butterflies and techniques used to monitor and record them as part of national monitoring Schemes.
They will then follow a 1 Km transect through Curraghchase Forest Park where butterflies will be identified, counted and recorded along the way in accordance with the methods laid out by the NBDC.
