Each child will be invited to read up to eight books during the holidays and will be given little rewards and incentives along the way. When they have read all the books they will be presented with a certificate to celebrate their achievement. All teachers and parents are asked to encourage the children to partake in this scheme.

We are looking for volunteers from the wider community of Glin of all age groups, who would like to get involved in this initiative. The aim is that all areas of Glin would be tackled, so volunteers can concentrate on their own area and their contribution can have an impact on the appearance of where they live. Please consider coming along and giving just one hour a week, as it is the work of the whole community, coming together, that will make the difference. If you have any gardening equipment, spades, wheelbarrow etc., and a vis vest, please bring these along with you. It was Henry Ford who said, “Coming together is the beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success!
