Cronin School of Irish Dancing Summer Camp: Beginners & New Start: 9th to 13th July from 10a.m. to 2.00 p.m. daily, €60. Advanced/Competitive: 16th to 20th July, 10a.m. to 2.00 p.m. daily €100. Family discount available on both. Contact Johnny (087) 1151461
Coffee Morning: On this Sunday, 8th July a coffee morning will be held in Geoghegans. All funds go to the sponsored charity swim this year which is in aid of The Caroline Foundation. Your support is much appreciated.
Glin Tidy Towns has commenced weekly clean-up. Meeting point is the Town Park. There is a choice of two evenings per week to give a little of your time – you can volunteer on Wednesday or Friday evenings from 7pm to 8pm – just 1 hour of your time in your week could make such a difference to our community. Please come along and bring a friend! Any gardening tools you may have would be very beneficial.
Meditation: Spend a day slowing down to the natural rhythms of the elements through guided meditation, singing bowls and mindfulness practices outside and in a purpose-built Earth Lodge in a beautiful setting in Glin, West Limerick. Led by qualified Gestalt Psychotherapist and Mindfulness teacher Ali Burnard. Sunday, July 8 from 10am-5pm (+second date TBA) Booking essential as places are limited. Cost: 100 euro. Lunch included. Cúl Camps: Glin/Gerald Griffin’s Cúl Camp will take place in Glin’s GAA pitch this summer from July 30 to August 3.
Department of the Environment: paid a welcomed visit to Glin last week and met with Councillor John Sheahan and members of Glin Development and Tidy Towns. Glin will be monitored closely going forward for illegal dumping and general littering and dog fouling. Appropriate signage will be erected in various locations. Thanks to Cllr. John Sheahan for arranging this visit.
Glin Baby & Toddler Group: We are now closed for the summer and will return in September.
Water Safety Classes at Glin Pier: Registration for Water Safety classes takes place at the pier on Sunday, July 8 at 12 noon. Classes commence on Monday, July 9 in the afternoon. Swimming lessons €30 and water safety classes €40. All ages welcome. Please avail of this wonderful opportunity that is provided locally for you. Lifeguards are on duty since last weekend for the duration of the summer. Respect the water and enjoy the facilities at the pier in Glin.
Glin GAA: On Thursday, the 5th of July, Glin GAA were delighted to present a cheque, from our recent fundraising efforts, to the Martin Family. Glin GAA would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed to the charity football match, and the pub quiz, both of which proved to be huge successes, and served as evidence of the charitable goodwill of the Glin community.
