Limerick Social Service Centre: We again request your generous help in the holding of our Annual collection in support of the Limerick Social Service Centre. With your kind co-operation, the appeal will be held at all masses on the weekend of the 19th and 20th January. Services include: Counselling service, Early Years’ Service with crèche and pre-school, Child & Family Service, Older persons service. In 2018 the collection throughout the diocese realised €15,262.81 towards the day-to-day running costs of the Centre. Thanking you for your on-going interest and support.
Glin GAA Pub Quiz: will be held in Barretts on Friday next the 25th January at 9.00 p.m. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Glin Rovers put on a very brave effort at the FAI Junior Cup 6th Round. The team travelled to Dublin last Saturday for the FAI Junior Cup last 32 round game where the result was VEC 4 – 0 Glin Rovers. Well done to all involved. Thank you to all the supporters who came on the day.

GLIN TIDY TOWNS: It’s great to see walkers and their canine friends using doggy poo bags on the Knights Walk! But PLEASE bring them to the nearest bin and do not dispose of them on the walkway or in the fields. They pose a serious risk to other animals if ingested, and it’s unsightly and is considered littering. Thank you and enjoy the Knights Walk.
WELL DONE: to local U13 soccer players Cillian Mulvihill, Tom Healy and David Mulvihill (Tarbert) who on Sunday, January 13 as part of the U13 Limerick Desmond team won 2-0 (Cillian Mulvihill x 2) against Waterford in Rathleake in the U13 Munster SFAI Subway Championship Inter League Semi Final. The boys and their team will now compete against Cork in the Munster Final on Sunday, January 20 in Carrigaline United FC, kick off at 2pm. Wishing everyone the very best of luck!
GLIN COMMUNITY GAMES: Art and Handwriting competition takes place on Saturday, 26th January – time & venue TBA
GLIN MEN’S SHED: Glin’s Shed was one of 10 Sheds in Co. Limerick that benefitted from €13,904 in funding from the Department of Rural & Community Development under the Community Enhancement Programme. This funding is to enable individual sheds to update their facilities by purchasing equipment or carrying out minor works to improve their shed. Glin Mens Shed received €1,450 and thank the Department of Rural & Community Development.
