Glin Going Strong Club: will be held on the 25th March in Ceol Corbraí Community Hall at 2.00 pm.
St. Fergus’ National School: Congratulations on qualifying for the SPAR Primary 5s Limerick County Soccer Finals! There were 87 schools and over 270 teams to start with so it’s a huge achievement to get to the finals. The final will be held on Thursday 2nd May and we wish them every success. Well done to all involved.
Community Games: The County Community Games cross country running will be held on this Sunday March, 24 in Shanagolden at 2pm. All competitors need to be there no later than 1.45pm. We will have a Glin banner there so please come to where this is located. Any queries call Dave FitzGerald on 086 2472297. Our U16s and u13s played in the Community Games Chess County competition last weekend in Newcastle West. Our U16s renewed rivalry with NCW whom we beat last year to win the title. However we were knocked off our perch with some very close tussles before losing to NCW by 3 boards to 2. Our u13’s also had a great tournament with a creditable performance achieving 4th place with 8 teams competing. All involved enjoyed the day and was a credit to the NCW chess club for organizing the room, food and refreshments for a thoroughly great day of chess. Teams were U16s: Maurice Fitzgerald. David Sheehan, Conor Fitzgerald, Jim Culhane, Jamie Ruddle. U13s Cian Fitzgerald, Jerry Ruddle, Sean Adams, Paula-Eve Culhane, Daniella Thompson and Gabriella Thompson.
Glin Baby & Toddler Group: *please note new opening day* The group will now operate on Friday mornings going forward. The opening time remains the same 10am to 12 noon. The group received €2000 funding before the summer holidays and this money has been spent on beautiful new toys. We really hope more families can attend the group as we rely solely on the community’s support. €3 per family, refreshments provided for adults and children. We look forward to seeing you.
