Eucharistic Adoration: Eucharistic Adoration: Our first weekly Eucharistic Adoration started last Friday 7th June and will continue every Friday until further notice. The following are the main guidelines for Adoration.
- Please be faithful to your Holy Hour with Jesus
- Please sign the register or (√) tick where your name is when you arrive
- Spiritual books are available to help you
- On the odd occasion when you cannot keep your appointment, arrange for someone else to take your place
- Your Coordinator is available to help should any difficulties arise
There will also be an inaugural Mass to formally launch Adoration in the parish on Saturday 22nd June @ 7PM, Mass will be followed by Benediction and Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament until 8PM. All Eucharistic adorers and family members are invited to attend.
All are welcome to join the Adoration on an ad-hoc basis. There is a substitute list available for those who may not be available every Friday but would like to support the Adoration team. If you would like to be added to this list, please contact Tommie @ 086-0401789
Glin Parish Pastoral Council – Golden Jubilee Celebration: Fr.
Tom Crawford will celebrate his Golden Jubilee in June 2019. To mark this
momentous occasion, Glin Parish Pastoral Council will host a celebration. Mass
will be celebrated in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Glin on Sunday
23rd June at 1pm (no 11 o’ clock mass). Afterwards there will be a light
buffet served in Ceol Corbraí Hall. There will be entertainment with music and
song from our local Glin talent. We
would like to extend a warm welcome to Fr. Crawford’s extended family and to
our Glin parishioners to attend the celebration and to help Fr. Crawford mark
this auspicious occasion. Thank you Fr.
Crawford for your 50 years of devoted service and commitment to the priesthood.
You have been a joyful witness to all.
God bless you on your Golden Jubilee. All are welcome and we are looking forward to the celebration.
Glin Pier: Thank you to the life guards that done a great job over the bank holiday weekend. The Lifeguards will now return to duty at Glin Pier on Monday, July 1 for the summer season. We thank Limerick Co. Council for providing this invaluable service.
Water Safety Classes: Water Safety classes will be held at Glin Pier Monday, July 8 for the week and also Monday, August 5 for the week. Full details will follow later. Take note and avail of these classes to ensure the service is provided each year.
St. Fergus’ National School: will hold an Introductory Afternoon on Tuesday next the 11th June at 1.00 p.m. for the new Junior Infants who will be starting school for the school year 2019/20.
Glin Tidy Town: Judging of towns starts on June 8th. Thank you to everyone that has ‘adopted a patch” outside your own premises. This approach allows our village to stay looking beautiful. We don’t have enough volunteers to take care of the entire village and surrounding areas but when everyone does a little bit it really helps. Thanks to those that have volunteered over recent weeks and months. Tidy Towns Volunteers meeting point: Car park near Tennis Court every Saturday morning at 11 am/Wednesday 8pm. All welcome.
Books for sale: at Paddy Hogan’s shop. €2 each or 3 books for €5 and children’s books €1. All proceeds in aid of Glin Men’s Shed. Great value.
Children’s Summer Camps 2019: The Shannon Gaels Cúl Camp will take place in Gerald Griffins GAA pitch in Ballyhahill from Monday July 29th – Friday August 2nd. Book online at kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie. Glin Tennis Club Registration: thank you to everyone that registered last weekend. There was great interest and we thank you very much. Coach Bryan will be back this Summer…watch this space for dates.
Drive in Movies: Foynes will host the first ever American Retro Drive-In Movie event which will take place on July 6 and 7 as part of the entertainment to mark the 30th anniversary of the opening of the Foynes Flying Boat and Maritime Museum.
