Glin Comhaltas Branch: The AGM of Glin Comhaltas Branch will be held on Monday 14th October at 8.00 p.m. in Ceol Corbraí Community Hall.  Fáilte róimh cách. 

Promoting Emotional Wellbeing: You are invited to a public presentation by Dr. Colman Noctor, Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist “Promoting Mental Health & Wellbeing in an Era of Technology” & Ms. Noelle Crehan, Nutritional Therapist “Mind Your Mood”, on Tuesday 8th October 7.3 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. at The Longcourt House Hotel, Newcastle West.  Doors open at 7.00 p.m., Admission free. Flu Vaccine Clinic: The HSEstrongly advise that all those at risk should get the flu vaccine.  If you are; aged 65 years or over, pregnant, suffer from diabetes, asthma, heart disease or any long term illness you should get the flu vaccine.  Patients only of Dr. Cassidy, Glin are invited to attend the clinic (no appointment necessary) on Tuesday, October 15 from 9.30am to 12.30pm.  

Glin Defibrillator Coffee Morning: Thanks to everyone who supported so generously to our Coffee Morning Sunday last in Conways Bar.  It was a great success and thanks to all our volunteers for helping out, baking and donating wonderful raffle prizes.  The funds raised will go towards the upkeep of our 11 Defibrillators, which includes batteries and pads. 

Thank you: to everyone who contributed to the weekends Church Gate Collection for Tidy Towns on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22, September. The funds collected will go towards planting, paint, flowers, and general hardware.  Thank you all. 

Glin Tidy Towns: We are delighted with the judges’ report on Glin for the 2019 SuperValu Tidy Towns competition.  We were awarded six extra points this year!  Huge thanks to everyone who contributes.  Full report on Tidy Towns Website:

GB Rovers: Congratulations to the GB Rovers FC U.12 team who won the U.12 Division 2 title with a game to spare on Saturday last. They have had a great season, except for the first game where they were rusty; they have won every game. They have played an excellent style of soccer and great credit goes to the managers; John MacNamara and Fergal Fitzgerald. Only five of the 13-man squad are on the age, the rest being U.12 again next year. Well done all.

Glin ICA: meeting on Friday 11th October at 7.30 p.m. in Cloverfield Day Care Centre.

Glin ICA: Weekly Whist Drives begin on Tuesday 1st October at 8.30 p.m. in Cloverfield Day Care Centre.  All welcome.

Gerald Griffins Lip Sync Battle:  takes place on Saturday, November 9 at The Devon Inn Hotel, Templeglantine. Doors open at 7pm with the show starting at 8pm.  Tickets €20

Rosary on the Coast: The Rosary on the Coast for Faith, Life & Love will take place on Sunday 13th October 2019.  The venue has been changed to the Parish Church, taking place at 3.00 p.m.  The 13th October is the anniversary of Our Lady’s final appearance at Fatima, Portugal in 1917.  During all the apparitions Our Lady continually requested the praying of the Rosary daily, to save mankind and the world.  To confirm her requests God performed the Great Miracle of the Sun, which was witnessed by 70,000 – 100,000 people within 20-25 mile radius of Fatima. 

Glin Baby & Toddler Group: €3 per family and refreshments provided for both young and old! Every Friday morning from 10am to noon in Ceol Corbraí Hall.  There is a WhatsApp group now established for the group.  If you would like to be added to this group please private message the Glin Baby & Toddler Facebook page with your number.

Clothing Collection: for St. Fergus’ National School takes place on Monday next the 7th October. Thank you to all who have brought bags of clothes to the school already. Your support is greatly appreciated.

“Fashion & Diamonds”: Friday, October 25 at O’Regans Wine Bar, (Foynes Flying Boat Museum) will see a beautiful fashion show titled ‘Fashion & Diamonds’ take place. Tickets are €25 and includes fashion show, a choice of main courses and a glass of house wine. This is a ticket only event which are currently on sale now in O’ Regans Wine Bar, Foynes or Brides Boutique, Glin.  Pre booking is essential so please telephone 069 65416 or 068-34331.

Abha Bhan Parish Park: Santa Claus is coming to Abha Bhán Parish Park, Loughill on Sunday, December 8 at 4.30pm.  Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.

Glin Estuary Charity Swim: All funds raised this year in the Estuary Swim go towards the Neonatal unit in U H L and a local Arts Project. It would be appreciated if all outstanding sponsorship was handed in as presentations need to be organised. A huge thanks to all who support this event every year.

Glin GAA:  During the rain, wind and occasional blast of sunshine which dominated the August Bank Holiday Weekend, Glin G.A.A. members and management and the Board of Management, Parents Council and Staff of St. Fergus National School, stood together to raise funds for the new school set down/parking area. Following A Bucket Collection, €4,000 was presented to St. Fergus’ National School, last week to help cover the cost of their hugely successful parking area on school grounds. A wonderful result from a parish working together. A huge thank you to all involved.
