Eucharistic Adoration: Weekly Adoration every Friday from 10AM (after Mass) until 9PM. Fr. Crawford has kindly offered to have the Church heating on during the winter months. All are welcome to join  … Pope Francis: “I invite everyone to discover the beauty of the prayer of Adoration and to exercise it often”.

Speed Limit through Loughill: Please show your support to keep the speed limit low going through Loughill by signing the petitions in the local businesses.

Glin Community Alert Group: Free Personal Monitoring Alarm for older persons of limited means to continue to live securely in their home and administered locally.  The alarm is worn around the neck or wrist and when pressed connects to a 24 hour monitored centre. Two people within the same home can receive an alarm if they both meet the eligibility criteria.  For a further information regarding eligibility or for further information please contact Garda Billy McElligott, Eddie O’Connor 086 1681691, Tom Sheehy or any member of the Community Alert Scheme.

Glin Baby & Toddler Group: We will be closed due to the school mid-term break on Friday November 1 and will return as normal on Friday, November 8.  Many thanks to all that came on Friday 18th, there was a great turnout with 16 adults and over 20 small folk. A lovely busy atmosphere! Thanks everyone and we hope that numbers will continue to grow.  Please spread the word.  

Blood Donor Clinic: save December 19 in your diary.  The blood donor clinic will be in town. 

Congratulations: A bright future lies ahead for the GB Rovers U12s team.  Congratulations to the team and trainers (Fergal Fitzgerald & John McNamara) on winning the Desmond League. A great title to have under your belt.  Well done all. 

Congratulations: to former GB Rover players Tom Healy and Cillian Mulvihill who beat Cork City in the SSE Airtricity League Semi Final Saturday last. This is the highest level of schoolboy soccer and such an achievement for these two boys and their club Limerick FC. Wishing them the best in the Cup Final.

Glin Post Office: This year let Glin Post Office take care of all your Spooky Halloween needs!  Be prepared for October 31st and pick up your Halloween costumes, face paint, masks, weapons, hats & bags which are all available now.

Glin Fairy Trail: has been invaded by ghosts and ghouls in recent days.  If you’re feeling brave, make sure to take a look!  Located at the start of The Knights Walk. 

GAA: Strength and Conditioning Classes; after a healthy discussion last week between parents, club officials and Colm Hassett of CH Fitness Gyms, we have decided to provisionally make a start in early November for our GAA strength and conditioning winter programme. Saturday morning is currently pencilled in; with the u12s & u14s at 12 noon and u16s & u18s at 12.45pm. Any parents that couldn’t attend the meeting, please don’t hesitate to ask any Bord na nÓg official for info. In the meantime please keep an eye on social media for confirmation of start-up.

Gerald Griffins Lip Sync:  takes place on Saturday, November 9 at The Devon Inn Hotel, Templeglantine. Doors open at 7pm with the show starting at 8pm.  Tickets €20

Willow Basketry Courses: two classes take place in O’Shaughnessys bar on November 9 and November 10.  On Saturday, November 9 ‘Willow Hen Basket’ starts at 10:00-5:30pm.In this all-day course we will be making a traditional frame basket with a ‘wild rose’ twist. Everyone leaves on the day with their very own basket and a set of traditional techniques! Tuition includes materials fee and tools. Class is limited to 7 students. €85, €30 deposit to confirm space. Second course takes place on the afternoon of Sunday, November 10 with the Willow Platter Class. Learn to make ‘tension trays’ or platters. Tuition includes materials fee and tools. Class is limited to 7 students. €50, €15 deposit to confirm space. To book contact Rosemary 089 258 3226

Thank You: As many of you know Maura O’Connor is a very busy women working away daily at Brides Boutique.  Over the past 7 to 8 years Maura has voluntarily given up every Saturday morning at 8.30am to read the local notes on Limericks Live 95fm.  Maura has kept a light shining on Glin and made our village and events known to all in West Limerick and beyond through her weekly morning radio slot.  If you haven’t yet tuned in, please do so, she is doing a wonderful job.  On behalf of the Glin Community; we sincerely thank you.

Classic Car and Tractor Run: takes place on November, 2 at Gerald Griffin’s GAA Club Ballyhahill Co. LIMERICK. Starting at 10am. Tea, coffee and refreshments with a memento for all participants. Car boot sale at the location on the day. If anyone wants a pitch please let me know.  Car entry for a pitch is €15. All proceeds go towards promotion of underage GAA in our small community. We last had a very successful run in 2012 here for the same cause….We would love to see cars, bikes, tractors, retro or vintage… Raffle prize on the day for entrants…. It may suit West Limerick, Knockdown, Rock Hill Bruree, Listowel clubs. All are most welcome. If your club are attending please advise so we can have enough mementoes and refreshments for everyone. Glin Going Strong Club: Takes place on the last Monday of every month at 2pm in Ceol Corbraí Community Hall.

Books for sale: at Paddy Hogan’s shop. €2 each or 3 books for €5 and children’s books €1.  All proceeds in aid of Glin Men’s Shed.  Great value. 

Glin Tidy Towns:  Volunteers meeting point: Car park near Tennis Court every Saturday morning at 11am or Wednesday 8pm.  All welcome.
