Commiserations: toLimerick FC U13 players Cillian Mulvihill, Tom Healy, their team mates, manager Niall Connolly, coaches Kieran O’Reilly and Sean Russell having lost 5-3 against St. Patricks Athletics in the SSE Airtricity U13 League Cup Final on a wet and miserable afternoon Saturday last in Jackman Park, Limerick. Cillian Mulvihill scored within the first 5 minutes but it wasn’t long before the score was equalled.  Going into the second half the boys were down 5-1 but Limerick soon turned things around with a super free kick from Cillian Mulvihill making it 5-2.  The boys fought hard with a further goal from James Kenneally within the last 10 minutes but it just wasn’t enough.  Many thanks to all those that ventured out in the unpleasant weather to support our boys in blue!

Video Race Night: our neighbours in Tarbert are holding a video race night in Memory of John Paul Collins of Collins Petrol Garage on November 23 in Carmody’s Bar Tarbert at 8.30pm. Monster raffle along with numerous auction items. All proceeds to the Collins Family Fund. Please support.

Glin Playground Extension – Grand Opening.
It was on a Spooky Halloween Eve, Thursday 31st October, when Glin Town Park was invaded by the scariest, terrifying and most menacing of earthly creatures ever!
Glin Development had the official opening of the new, recently completed, playground extension. There was a fantastic turnout and the Development Committee would like to thank everyone who turned up for the opening. Special thanks goes to all the children in their fantastic costumes. Our independent adjudicators has a very difficult task indeed to pick a winner. Thank you all for making such a brilliant effort. Dominic West was home for Halloween with his family and he very kindly obliged by officially opening the playground and cutting the ribbon. Glin Development would like to thank Dominic and his family for taking time out from their break to help out. Dominic is always so obliging and a gentleman to boot. We could not have asked for a more handsome ribbon cutter! He remarked that we now can boast three castles in Glin, with the new castle structure in the playground echoing our existing iconic castles!
Fr. Tom Crawford blessed the playground and spoke some lovely words to the children about appreciating the facilities and looking after our earth.  West Limerick resources who part funded the project were represented by Elaine Dillon and Amee Grigg. Our local Councillor, John Sheahan, who spearheaded the project, also said some words as did the Chairman of Glin Development, John Anthony Culhane.  Glin Development would like to thank everyone who had a part in the project and those who helped to make the Opening the wonderful event that it was. Special thanks also to Jim Lynch and William Brouder, RSS and to brothers Joe and Denis Mulcahy CES, who keep Glin Park and Glin Playground in excellent condition.  The project was funded by West Limerick Resources, Glin Development PLG and sponsorship from Adams Garage.
