Eucharistic Adoration: Weekly Adoration every Friday from 10AM (after Mass) until 9PM. All are welcome to join  … Pope Francis: “One cannot know the Lord without being in the habit of adoring in silence”.

A Programme of Formation for Lay Pastoral Ministry and Leadership: This programme provides training for those who are interested in working as volunteer catechists or lay pastoral workers at parish and pastoral unit level.  The programme combines rich academic content with pastoral skills and promotes the personal and spiritual development of the participants with an awareness of the cultural context in which they will minister.  The programme is both practical and theoretical and is grounded in pastoral spirituality.  The programme runs for 30 months.  The programme normally runs one weekend per month (Friday evening and all-day Saturday for 8 months per annum). After an initial six month period of discernment the candidate enrols in an accredited Certificate in Pastoral Ministry awarded by Mary Immaculate College.  The IIPS Certificate in Pastoral Ministry is currently being offered for the first time in the Academic Year 2019 – 2020 at an onsite location in the Diocese of Killaloe.  Information evening in the Longcourt Hotel, Newcastle West on Wednesday 27th November at 7.30 p.m. 

Ceol an Gheimhridh, 2019, Glin: Glin Comhaltas Branch hosted Ceol an Gheimhridh for Bord Chondae Luimnigh C.C.É. on Sunday 10th November in Glin.  Competitions were held in St. Fergus National School and Ceol Corbraí Community Hall and Glin C.C.É. are very grateful to the Principal and Staff of St. Fergus National School for the use of their elegant premises.  Thanks also of course to the Trustees of Ceol Corbraí for their Halla, The Old National School.  The whole event was successfully run by Bord Chontae Luimnigh C.C.É., our thanks to them also.  Cathaoirleach Seán ó hÉalaithe wishes to thank Glin Men’s Shed members who supplied door stewards: John Culhane, Joe McGrath, Martin Henderson, John Fitzgerald, Mickey Mulvihill.  Also my thanks to Glin C.C.É. members who made the event possible: Máire, Tom and Róise McIntyre, Áine Uí Riada and Matthew and Mary Healy.  It was a very busy event and it should be stated that the wonderful new parking amenities at the school served their purpose well.  “Ar scáth a chéile a mhaireann a daoine”.

Glin ICA: will host the Senior Citizens Party at Cloverfield Daycare Centre on Sunday 24th November at 1.00 p.m.  Please hand I your names to Sheila at Wallaces, Mary at Hogans or Frances at McNamaras before the 20th November as places are limited.

Glin Community Alert Group: Free Personal Monitoring Alarm for older persons of limited means to continue to live securely in their home and administered locally.  For further information regarding eligibility or for further information please contact Garda Billy McElligot, Eddie O’Connor 086 1681691, Tom Sheehy or any member of the Community Alert Scheme.

St. Fergus National School: The Board of Management of St. Fergus National School are holding their annual Church Gate Collection this weekend.  Your support is greatly appreciated.

Glin Old Fair Day: The much anticipated traditional Glin Old Fair Day takes place this year on Saturday, December 7.  Like previous years, the craft fair will take place in Ceol Corbrai Community Hall with 20/22 table spots available to purchase for €20 ahead.  If you are interested in securing a table please contact Michael Donnellan on 087 9953577

Glin Baby & Toddler Group: We will return on Friday, Novemeber 15 as normal from 10am in Ceol Corbrai Hall.

Christmas Wreath Making: Takes place at Glin Castle December 8th from 2pm-5pm. Contact for further info.

Video Race Night: our neighbours in Tarbert are holding a video race night in Memory of John Paul Collins of Collins Petrol Garage on November 23 in Carmody’s Bar Tarbert at 8.30pm. Monster raffle along with numerous auction items. All proceeds to the Collins Family Fund. Please support. 

Glin Going Strong Club: Takes place on the last Monday of every month at 2pm in Ceol Corbraí Community Hall.

Books for sale: at Paddy Hogan’s shop. €2 each or 3 books for €5 and children’s books €1.  All proceeds in aid of Glin Men’s Shed.  Great value. 

Well done: Well done to gymnast Miriam O’Connor who competed at the 2019 National Series FIG Team Championship over the weekend in Dublin.  Miriam and her friends at Aerial Gymnastics Club brought home 7 National medals, 2 Gold and 5 Silver medals!  Amazing!! Well done everyone.

Glin Defibrillator Group: had a very successful Church Gate Collection. Thank you to everyone who contributed. Funds raised will be used towards the upkeep of the 11 Defibrillators in the Parish. 

Defibrillator and CPR training will take place in the coming months.  Don’t forget to put the new Defib contact number in your phone, 068 – 59590. 

Glin Tidy Towns. Glin Tidy towns will recommence their work in early spring.  If you would like to join the group, and new members are always welcome, please keep an eye on the Parish notes, FB Page and papers. 

Glin Development Association: will be holding their AGM in the coming weeks. New members are welcome and we would encourage anyone who is interested in the future and prosperity of Glin to come along and get involved. Date will be advertised on, Glin Tidy Towns FB Page, Parish newsletter and in the papers.
