A Christmas Message: Fr. Crawford’s brother John would like to wish the people of the parish a very happy Christmas and best wishes for the New Year.  He would also like to thank everyone most sincerely for the wonderful reception the family got

Concern Church Gate Collections: the annual Concern Church Gate Collections will be held this weekend, 14th & 15th December.  The staff, students and parents of Tarbert Comprehensive School will be collecting for this most worthy charity.  Please give as generously as you can.  Thank you.

St. Stephens Day Huge Fundraiser: A fundraising event being led by Shane Culhane for Pieta House, Preventing Suicide and Self Harm is being organised for St. Stephens Day.  Glin Rovers Golden Oldies from the noughties who captured the Desmond Cup in 2009 will take on a current Glin Rovers XI who themselves have Desmond Cup medals in their back pocket and will do battle for bragging rights over the Christmas. The game will take place in Corbry Estate on St. Stephens Day with time to be confirmed. There will be a raffle for some great prices on the night and buckets will be found in the town to collect as much as we can for this charity with further details to be announced. We hope to have many as possible at the event and bring friends and family to this great cause.  

Cailin Bán: The highly successful Cailin Bán staring Dominic West that took place at Glin Castle a few months ago, is now available to purchase on DVD.  You can now relive that night as DVDs are on sale in local Glin shops.  It includes incredible aerial views of Glin. The cost is €15 and would make a lovely Christmas gift. All proceeds from sale will go towards the new Interpretive Centre coming in 2020.

Glin Castle Side-saddle Meet: will take place on Sunday, December 29 at Glin Castle. Meeting in O’Shaughnessy’s Bar and Leaving from Glin Village at 12noon. Visitors Cap – €50 Adults / €30 Children. Please no parking in the castle driveway or grounds.

Glin GAA: would like to thank all those who contributed to their annual Church Gate Collection last weekend.  Your support is greatly appreciated.

Estuary Rollers present ‘A Christmas Tractor Run’ on Sunday 15th December.  The decorated Christmas tractors expect to pass through Glin at approx. 5-5.30pm.  All proceeds in aid of Milford Care Centre.  If you would like to enter your tractor please arrive in Abbeyfeale Mart at 1.30pm.  Tractors aim to leave Abbeyfeale at 3.30pm and will pass through Athea, Moyvane, Tarbert, Glin and Knockdown.  Contact Kieran 086 3168452 for more info. Glin Rovers: Old Trafford Draw 2020. Tickets for our Annual Draw are now on sale.  This year up for grabs are 2 Match Tickets for Man Utd V Man City at Old Trafford (provisional date 7/3/20) plus €300 cash. Tickets are €5 each or 3 for €10.  These would make a nice stocking filler too!

Glin Baby & Toddler Group: open Fridays during term time.  Ceol Corbrai Community Hall, 10am to 12 noon.  €3 per family.  Refreshments provided.  We look forward to seeing you. 

Santa at Abha Bhan Parish Park:    With the announcement of the Orange Weather Warning by Met Eireann in relation to Storm Atiyah on Sunday last, the committee members made the tough decision to postpone Santa’s arrival and of the Craft Fair until this Sunday, December 15 at 4pm. They are very sorry for any inconvenience caused.  The pupils of 3rd-6th class at Gerald Griffins NS will be selling wooden candle holders at the craft fair as part of their Junior Entrepreneur Programme. St. Fergus’ National School Car Park/Set Down Area: The Board of Management would like to advise you that the school has repaid €41,100 of the Parish Loan of €70,000 secured to fund the Parking/Set Down Area.  A cheque was issued to the Parish recently.  It was a wonderful community effort and our thanks to all who contributed to the door to door collection and any other fundraisers organised to repay this loan.  The parking/set down area has proved to be a great success both for the school and the whole community of Glin.  Míle Buíochas!
