Glin Defibrillator Group: will run a CFR training for new and renewal candidates on Saturday February 15th next in Conways Function Room on the 15th February from 10.15 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.(Break for Lunch).  The cost of the course is €30.   If your two year certificate has expired, bring mask and book, cost is €25.

Glin Development Association: AGM will be held on Thursday 23rd January in Conways Meeting Room at 8.30 p.m.  The Association are hopeful of attracting new members. The future of Glin is important, and we welcome members who have Glins’ best interests at heart.  If you would like to come along, please come and bring a friend.” Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success”.  ALL ARE WELCOME.

Glin Tidy Towns:  Glin has joined the #PosterFree campaign!  All candidates must NOT erect posters inside the 50km speed limits.  The #PosterFree list continues to grow! Our environmental crisis is worsening, please ask all canvassers/candidates about their environmental policies.

Glin GAA Bord na nOg: will hold underage (u6 to U16s) player registration after mass this Sunday Jan 19th at 12pm at the clubhouse. €20 for the first child and €50 for family of 4 or more.

Thank you: The Glin Rovers charity fundraiser match and raffle in aid of Pieta House, organised by Shane Culhane which was held on St. Stephens Day last raised an overwhelming €4,000. The figure raised surpassed all exceptions but this was down to the generosity of the community and their good will spirit in donating to this great charity.  Shane would like to thank all current and past players who dusted down the boots and played on the day, all the many, many people near and far who donated great amounts to the cause, Limerick Hurling and Kerry Football teams for signing two jerseys, to Geoghegan’s Magpie Bar for hosting food after the match and to Barretts Bar for hosting the raffle on the night.  A big thank you to the local businesses of the following who offered some great prizes for the raffle on the night; Fitzgeralds Woodlands House Hotel & Spa, Glin Allcare Pharmacy, Brides Boutique, Urban Angels Hair salon, Marie’s Hair Salon, CH Health and Fitness, Adams of Glin, Barretts Bar, Hogan’s Grocery Shop and McNamara’s Grocery Shop.  Once again many thanks to everyone involved.

Abha Bhán Drama Group: If you missed the sell out shows the first time around – you are in luck!! Abha Bhán Drama Group are in Glórach Theatre, Abbeyfeale with their production of ‘Sive’ on January 24th and 25th. An unmissable opportunity to see this award-winning group back on stage. St. Fergus National School – Clothing Collection:  in aid of school funds will take place on Monday 3rd February 2020. Bags can be left at the school from the previous Friday. Thanking you for your continued support.

Accountant: will offer free help to locals in filling out UK fuel allowance form in Glin Library on Friday 24th January from 11 a.m. to 12.30 p.m., also general help with a bonus UK spouse pension available to women aged 64+ before 6th April 2020 and men aged 69+ whose spouses/partners get a UK pension.  From 12.30 p.m .to 1.00 p.m. help is given to locals who worked illegally in the USA in getting pension credit for time spent there either by means of a bonus USA pension or extra Irish pension, persons who worked for 5 years in union local 608 carpenter or 18a etc. may have pension rights despite their non-documented status.  Contact Peg at Glin Library to book a particular time.

Glin Baby & Toddler Group: Opens on Friday mornings (during term time) in Ceol Corbrai Community Hall from 10am to 12 noon.  €3 per family contribution.  We offer a happy and friendly environment for both carers and children, refreshments for adults and children, baby sensory toys and equipment, nursery rhymes and sing song at the end of each session.  We are breastfeeding friendly and encourage mother, fathers, grandparents and caregivers to come along. Blood Donor Clinic: pencil Wednesday, January 29 in your diary as the blood clinic will be in town. 

Yoga: starting January 13 in Cloverfield Daycare Centre at 7pm with Monika. 

Glin Rovers: Old Trafford Draw 2020. Tickets for the Annual Draw are on sale.  This year up for grabs are 2 Match Tickets for Man Utd V Man City at Old Trafford (provisional date 7/3/20) plus €300 cash. Tickets are €5 each or 3 for €10

Well done: Fantastic news for Conor Martin who has been selected for the U16 Limerick Hurling GAA squad. Keep up the good work Conor.
