Thank you: The Glin Rovers charity fundraiser match and raffle in aid of Pieta House, organised by Shane Culhane which was held on St. Stephens Day last raised an overwhelming €4,000. The figure raised surpassed all exceptions but this was down to the generosity of the community and their good will spirit in donating to this great charity. Shane would like to thank all current and past players who dusted down the boots and played on the day, all the many, many people near and far who donated great amounts to the cause, Limerick Hurling and Kerry Football teams for signing two jerseys, to Geoghegan’s Magpie Bar for hosting food after the match and to Barretts Bar for hosting the raffle on the night. A big thank you to the local businesses of the following who offered some great prizes for the raffle on the night; Fitzgeralds Woodlands House Hotel & Spa, Glin Allcare Pharmacy, Brides Boutique, Urban Angels Hair salon, Marie’s Hair Salon, CH Health and Fitness, Adams of Glin, Barretts Bar, Hogan’s Grocery Shop and McNamara’s Grocery Shop.
