COVID-19 GLIN HELPERS: Approx 35 members of Glin Community have come forward to offer help and assistance to the elderly, those with underlying conditions and the vulnerable in this difficult time.  If you need groceries from the shops, your prescription picked up or dropped off etc, then please request our help.  The list of ‘Helpers’ will be available from Glin Post Office this week.  PLEASE ASK FOR THIS LIST.  Everyone in the list, is there to help you. THIS IS A VOLUNTARY SERVICE AND FOR THOSE THAT GENUINELY NEED HELP. Every member of the group want to help you but also protect you from the COVID-19 virus.  With this in mind we will: Wear protective gloves, we will NOT enter your home, We will keep our distance – We want to keep you safe. Glin Post Office:

In light of what we are going through at the moment, we would like to notify our customers that the Post Office is an essential national service and will remain open no matter what happens.  We are asking customers to please observe coughing/sneezing etiquette and social distancing instructions to ensure safety to staff and fellow customers.  We urge our elderly members of the community to avail of using an ‘Agent’ to collect their Dept of Social Protection payments. The ‘Agent’ can be a family member or friend that you trust.  They will need to collect a form from Glin Post Office and you will need to sign it, giving permission for the ‘Agent’ to collect your payment for you.  Any questions please call Michelle at Glin Post Office 068 34100

Glin Garda Station: If you feel unsafe or need help please contact Garda Billy McElligot 068 34100. 

MACE Adam’s of Glin: are providing delivery in the Glin area if required. This service will be provided to the elderly of our community and those who genuinely need the service. Please call 068 26978. Wishing good health to all our customers over the coming weeks.

Hogans Shop: are offering their customers, due to the Corona virus, that do not wish to come to Glin, the option of having their shopping delivered to their homes – no charge. Please contact us if you wish to avail of this option.  068 34508

Taste Restaurant: is currently open. We would like to inform our customers that in the last few days new measures for customers and the staff’s health and safety have been placed. We value your support at this critical time. It is up to all of us to play our part. 

Glin Grub: is still currently open and have implemented new health and safety conditions for your safety.

Glin Men’s Shed: Well done to Megan Farrell, last weeks bonus ball winner.  If you would like to play and try and win E50 call to McNamaras Shop or Hogans Shop where it costs E2 to play. The Men’s Shed is closing immediately following recent developments with Coronavirus. It is a difficult decision to make but the health of the members and the community is paramount. We hope that this closure will be of short  duration.  We wish all our members, supporters and subscribers a safe and healthy journey through the current crisis.

Brides Boutique: have decided to close their boutique and hair saloon to ensure the health and safety of staff, families, friends, our loyal customers and community at large. Thank you for your continued support and your loyalty.

Glin & Loughill Parks: are closed until further notice.

Glin GAA: Due to the current circumstances, Glin GAA Lotto will not take place until firther notice. We will keep our supporters notified of when it will resume.

Glin Library: is temporarily closed and will open soon.

Urban Angels: will return in due course.

Glin Baby & Toddler Group: is closed until further notice. 

GLIN COMHALTAS:  Due to the Covid-19 virus, all music classes in Glin are suspended until further notice and the planned concert for April 1st will be postponed to another time!

Glin Tri Club: Unfortunately we have to postpone our annual Easter Monday 5km from Glin Castle and around the Knights Walk – we hope we can rearrange this at a later date – in the meantime keep exercising! 

Team Limerick Cleanup:  is now postponed until further notice.

St. SENANS SOCIAL SERVICES, Foynes, in association with the other parishes in our Pastoral area propose to organise a day Pilgrimage to Knock on 14 May. This pilgrimage is now cancelled. Details later.

Yoga Classes: with Monika, on Mondays in Cloverfield Day Care Centre are cancelled until further notice.

The Glin Fairy Trail Committee: have decided to close the Fairy Trail for the next few weeks due to a large tree falling during last weekend’s storm.
