The following Glin sports groups have been awarded funding from The Sports Capital Grant: Glin Rovers €150,000, Glin GAA €20,000, Glin Tennis Club €11,112. Great work by all committee members – the paper work is hard going, but worthwhile when you get these results.

Our thanks to Rachel Mulvihill, Glin Community News Facebook Page: After many many months of ‘not being sure’, I have finally decided to close down the Glin Community News Facebook page. I have been running the page now independently for over 10 years and I cannot dedicate the time needed to run it anymore. Thank you to everyone that helped the page gain 3000+ followers, all regularly updated with the goings on, in and around Glin. The pages’ news was always warmly received and I can honestly say (bar 2/3 negative comments over the 10 years) that all comments on the page were positive and friendly. Thank you to everyone that helped make the page what it was.

I will touch base over the coming months with updates from the Go Fund Me page and the progress being made down at the Town Park. It was lovely to finish the closing of the page on a positive with so many contributions from wonderful local people. The fund raised just a little over €10k and I will work closely with Glin Development on the park project. Many thanks to all, Rachel Mulvihill
