Glin Development Association: Glin Homes and Glin Development are arranging a Cead Mile Failte to our Ukrainian neighbours who have recently arrived in The Lanterns Motel, Tarbert. Forced to leave their own homes in the Ukraine, it must be a horrendous experience to leave family and friends behind, not knowing when this terrible war will end and when they will be able to return safely to their homeland once again.  If you would like to show solidarity and support for these people you are most welcome to join us at Cloverfield on Thursday next, the 5th of May at 1.15 p.m. Over a cup of coffee you might like to meet these families and play your part in giving a warm welcome to our new neighbours. A few kind words and a warm Glin welcome might help in some small way to make them feel welcome in our country and to let them know that we stand together in our support for the Ukrainian people.

Tarbert Darkness into light: The event takes place on Saturday 7th May at 4.15 am.

Glin Community News: Rachel Mulvihill met with members of Glin Development recently to present them on behalf of the Glin Community and further afield, a cheque for €9,972.40 for the ‘Put the light back in to Glin Town Park’ Go Fund Me campaign.  What originally started with the hopes of collecting €1,200 towards the town park damage shortly after New Years Day, soon snowballed and there was no end to the generosity shown.

Glin Development are doing trojan work behind the scenes and because of the Go Fund Me appeal, repair works of the lights and the installation of CCTV cameras is well under way and very soon the park will be back shining bright and beautiful once again. Thank you to each person, business and community group that donated so kindly.  To all at Glin Development – thank you for all that you do, to ensure that our village remains vibrant and a place that people love to visit.
