A warm welcome for our Ukrainian friends in Glin.

John Anthony Culhane, Chairman of Glin Development, welcoming our Ukrainian friends on behalf of the people of Glin.
Councillor John Sheahan, representing Limerick City and County Council, welcoming our Ukrainian friends to Glin.

Glin Homes and Glin Development arranged a Cead Mile Failte in Cloverfield today for our Ukrainian neighbours who recently arrived in The Lanterns Motel, Tarbert. Transport was arranged by our Councillor John Sheahan to bring the group to Cloverfield in Glin.

A lovely dinner was provided by Rachel Duff and her staff. Over dinner new friendships were forged with our Ukrainian friends as everyone chatted and got to know each other through the help of the interpreters. Some of the representatives from Tarbert also came along to introduce the group.

What a wonderful group of people! They were extremely touched by the solidarity shown by everyone who came to Cloverfield to lend support and make them welcome.

It was a lovely afternoon and the Ukraine girls sang a song from their homeland which was very moving. It is unimaginable what these Ukraine people are living through. It is but a small gesture to offer a helping hand and to make them feel welcome and supported in our country.

We now have a main contact for the group, and it is intended to provide further support going forward.

Thank you to those who were able to come to Cloverfield today and to the wonderful staff who looked after everyone so professionally.
