Glin GAA: We held our 2nd annual ‘Long Kick’ competition on St. Stephens morning in Culhane Park, where some hardy souls braved the elements for a worthy cause; Crumlin Children’s Hospital. Winner on the day was Jamie Fitzgerald beating the great Nodge in the final with a mammoth kick. We had some golden oldies take part with some varying results! All in all we had 25 participants and it led for a great mornings entertainment. Big thanks to Joe Martin Shane O’Sullivan and Hugh Dunne for officiating on the day. The Club would like to say thanks to Barrett’s Bar, Dunnes Bar and O’Shaughnessy’s Bar for putting up the prize money. We raised €190 on the morning. Thank you.

Glin Rovers F.C: ‘Buy a Brick’ fundraiser for Glin Rovers F.C. Sponsors Wall – Ticket Price €100. There are exciting times ahead for all at Glin Rovers FC. They are hoping that past and present players, community members, local businesses and their many friends, near and far, might be interested in being a part of the history of the club. In the coming months, a beautiful new astro turf pitch, match day warm up area, flood lights and a new dug out, will enable Glin Rovers to improve their current grass pitch and club house facilities. This project will be of wonderful benefit to all their current and upcoming little super stars for generations to come. To achieve this, Glin Rovers FC are asking for people’s support in raising €150,000. To generate these funds, they are inviting people to “Buy a Brick”. Everyone can now literally be a part of Glin Rovers FC and their history by purchasing a brick! This brick will be engraved with the persons or name of their family or business. These bricks will be displayed on a wall beside the current ‘Liam Mulvihill’ stand. The cost of an engraved brick is €100. The club realize that everyone will not be in a position to purchase a brick, please note that they will gratefully accept any donation. This project is the next milestone in the history of the club and our community. Glin Rovers look forward to inviting everyone to the opening of the new facilities in due course. On the opening of this new facility, Glin Rovers FC will be holding a draw to the value of €1,000 for all those who have contributed. There are two options to contribute, supporters can pay through cash to club members and online through our club force online system by visiting www.member.clubforce.com/tickets_m.asp?ll_ID=2813…  Thank you.

Thank You: G.B Rovers FC would like to thank John MacNamara, former treasurer of GB Rovers FC. John held multiple roles within the club until he retired at our last AGM. Not only did he take great care of the books, but he was a coach, a mentor and the man that had all the answers, when the rest of us looked around and scratched our heads! A man of wisdom and character and a figure who is already missed within the club. John had hoped to relax and take a break from committee roles, but a good man is never left alone for too long! John is already back in the saddle as a treasurer for another up and coming project and they are lucky to have him. Thanks for all your hard work and commitment over the years to GB Rovers FC it was hugely appreciated.
