GB Rovers FC: Congratulations to our U10 manager Cathal O’Kane and U10 player James, who welcomed little Lottie into the world earlier this afternoon. Congratulations to you both and we are delighted to hear both mammy and Lottie are doing well. Soccer news this week: Manager Daithi O’Connor-Bray said “The u12As played Avenue Utd who travelled from Ennis in the 3rd of the National Cup. They two teams battled hard throughout, and we were very unlucky to let in a goal at the stroke of half time from a rebound ball, after steady defending. After halftime the lads played their hearts out and had a couple of opportunities that just went wide, and made the Avenue goalie work. Avenue scored the second after some strong pressure, but the lads kept going to the end. It wasn’t to be our day, losing 0-2. Well done to all for a great game. Best of luck to Avenue in the next round. We would also like to thank the GB parents, who prepared a wonderful spread for the visiting team” A disappointing result today, but to make it to the 3rd round is a huge achievement and everyone should be very proud of their performance. Thanks to Daithi and his crew, for getting the lads to the 3rd round.
