Glin GAA Parish League: takes place next Sunday at Glin GAA pitch from 3.30pm. The club has been lucky enough to acquire the help of the Dillon Quirke foundation to carry out ECG heart screening of 45 children between the ages of 12 and 18. The main reason behind this is to try and detect irregularities in the circuitry of the heart to prevent SADS in the future. So, we will be opening up this to all kids incorporating the LGFA and the Bord na nOg club. What we have to stress if you do commit to doing this that you will follow through with it, since we will be looking for this service in the future and late cancellations mean someone else may miss out on this service on the day. It will be first come first serve. Once you have given your name to either Maire Lyons or Sean Lyons you will receive a small form that a parent will need to fill in. There is more info available on the attachments. It is run on a donation basis. The average donation is between €30 to €50 per child.

Tarbert Comprehensive: What a weekend of football and celebrations. Congratulations to the Tarbert Comp Senior Boys Gaelic Football on claiming the All Ireland Champions title following their victory in the Masita GAA All-Ireland Post Primary Schools Dr. Eamonn O’ Sullivan Cup Final. Celebrations were non-stop with a huge homecoming on Saturday night to welcome the boys off the bus outside their winning school. On Monday 11th, all communities came together to line the streets from the Bridewell to the school for the official homecoming to welcome the All Ireland Champions back to school.
