Deel Animal Rescue: On behalf of Deel Animal Rescue can we say a massive thank you to everyone who donated to our church gate collection last Sunday.  We were blown away as we received €969.  We are so grateful to you all.

Congratulationsto John and Margaret Mulvihill who celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary last weekend with family in Tarbert.

Lifeguards on Duty: We are delighted to welcome our lifeguards back at Glin and Kilteery Piers! They will be on duty weekends throughout June and full-time in July and August. It’s crucial to swim only when lifeguards are present and to understand the meaning of the coloured flags they use. These flags provide essential information about water conditions and safety. Enjoy the water responsibly and have a great summer!

Mark Fleming, Coffee and Car Meet: Last week, Catherine Conway Ellis, Josephine, and Aishling Fleming travelled to Dublin to present the proceeds from “Mark’s Car and Coffee Meet,” organized to raise funds and awareness for SADS at the Mater Foundation. A cheque for €7,000 was presented. The Fleming family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their generous contributions. Special thanks to Ciaran Sheehan and Alex Parkinson for their hard work. The family also acknowledges the Tarbert Development Association for their invaluable assistance on the day. Unfortunately, the event could not be held in Glin due to the unavailability of a suitable venue.

Summer Stars: Call into Glin library to register for this year’s reading programme and collect your reading card & Limerick Libraries book bag to get you started. Only 8 books to read all summer with the chance to win some lovely prizes.

Coffee Morning: Thank you to everyone that supported the Parents Council Coffee morning held last Sunday, whether you came along and donated so generously or donated online – its all apricated. Thanks to the helpers, bakers, suppliers and to Barrett’s Bar and Hogans Shop for their time and assistance. €1,550 was raised for St Fergus NS.

Activator Pole Walking: Join us for Activator Pole Walking at Ceol Corbrai Community Hall, Glin, every Wednesday from 9:30am to 10:30am, from July 3rd to July 24th. The cost is €10 for 4 weeks. Activator Pole Walking enhances aerobic fitness, mobility, strength, and balance for people of all abilities and fitness levels. The poles are suitable for everyone, making it an inclusive exercise option. Registration is required to provide the poles. Glin Knights Visitor Centre: The Glin Knights Visitor Centre reopens its doors for the summer, welcoming visitors from 10 am to 5 pm. Located on Lower Main Street in Glin, adjacent to Glin Library, entry is free for all. Come explore the rich history and legacy of the Knights of Glin – a delightful hour or so awaits you!

Thank You: The Glin Men’s Shed would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who generously supported our Church Gate Collection. A total of €496 was raised on Sunday, June 16th. These donations will go towards the everyday running of our Shed. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

The Movers Exercise Programme: continues every Tuesday in Ceol Corbrai Hall. To book a spot call Darragh 089 4080925. Booking is essential. 

Discover the Charm of Glin Garden Trail: A Self Guided Tour on this Sunday, June 30th, 2pm-6pm: Immerse yourself in the beauty of Glin village as you explore 7 gardens on the Glin Garden Trail. This enchanting self-guided tour, organized in aid of Milford Hospice, offers a delightful afternoon of nature and community. *Limited tickets* Tickets are just €10 and will be on sale starting Monday morning at 9am at the following locations: Glin: Hogan’s Shop, McNamara’s Shop, and on the day at O’Shaughnessy’s Pub. Ballyhahill: O’Rourke’s Shop. Tarbert: The Bridewell. Listowel: The Mail Road Cross Garden Centre. Enjoy tea, coffee, and cakes at O’Shaughnessy’s Pub, with a donation bucket available to support Milford Hospice. Why not make a day of it and enhance your visit with the Glin Heritage Walks, featuring breathtaking scenery on the Knights Walk. The Knights Visitor Centre will also be open, offering fascinating insights into the history of the Knights of Glin. Tip: Dress for an Irish Summer! Be sure to come along for an afternoon of garden exploration and community spirit, all for a wonderful cause. Don’t miss out on this unique event!

Save the Date. Sunday 14th July at 12 noon at Glin Pier. Glin Community Singing Group with Bernie Hayes are holding a fun afternoon of Song & Music to raise funds for Foynes Search & Rescue & the RNLI. More information nearer the date

Glin Tidy Towns: Our weekly Saturday morning clean ups still take place, meeting outside Glin Library at 11am. All welcome.

Save the date: Glin Rovers F.C. social will be held September 14th in the Listowel Arms Hotel. Live music from ‘Bog the Donkey’ – more details to follow.

Glin GAA: Please do not dump electrical items at the Club House. If it has a plug – its no good.The club incurs costs to dispose of electrical waste. However, scrap metal is welcome.

Calling all local swimmers: Get ready for the much-anticipated Estuary Swim! This event has a very limited number of places available. Please secure your place NOW, before registration to other individuals/clubs from neighbouring villages and counties is offered.  If you’re planning to swim on Saturday, 13th July, make sure to pick up your sponsorship card from Marie Geoghegan as soon as possible. Don’t delay—spaces will be offered to those on the waiting list if you wait too long.

Activity at Glin Library: Craft Group. meets *fortnightly* (1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month at 10.30am. Open to all ages and abilities. Class is Free. Community Singing Group: meets every Tuesday from 11.30am. All welcome. Contribution box in place. Facilitated by Bernie Hayes, Askeaton/Ballysteen. The Book Group. meets monthly on the last Wednesday & Thursday of the month. All welcome. Class is Free. All events take place in Glin Library & everyone is welcome. A special word of ‘Thanks’ to our Librarian Deirdre who has a welcome for everyone & has encouraged all these events.

Home Grown Flowers: Organic, Home grown garden flowers, with absolutely no pesticides used will be available in Paddy Hogan’s shop in Glin Village,from Friday/Saturday July 5th/6th. You can also order flowers for a special occasion 086-3676394
