An appeal from Glin Development and Tidy Towns: Glin Development and the Tidy Town’s group work hard in the maintenance and upkeep of Glin. Spring/Summer is especially busy as everyone is out and about and enjoying all that Glin has to offer. Our town is not just a place we live — it’s our shared home, our community, and our pride. A clean and presentable town reflects our respect for one another and the pride we take in where we live. Glin Tidy Towns are entered into the National Tidy Towns Competition. The adjudicators will be visiting Glin in the coming weeks and it would be great to showcase Glin at its very best. With this in mind we kindly urge all residents to: Dispose of litter properly – Use bins provided and avoid littering. If bins are full please take litter home. Weekends are busy in Glin and the square becomes a hub for gatherings and socialising. All businesses and home owners in this area are asked to keep an eye for litter and please keep the area litter free. There has been instances of the council litter bins being used for disposal of household waste. The council are presently monitoring this situation. Maintain your surroundings – Keep footpaths , and common areas free of litter and weeds. Report issues – Notify Glin Development or Limerick Co Council of any areas needing attention. Support local clean-up efforts –join Glin Tidy Towns! Lead by example – Teach children to respect our Town Park and Pier areas and to not litter or cause damage. All adults and children should leave the area as they found it. We would appeal to those who use these areas to pick up any instances of litter. Keep a bag in the boot of your car. Together, we can create a healthier, safer, and more beautiful Glin for ourselves and future generations. Your small efforts make a big difference. Let’s work together to keep our town clean, green, and welcoming! A huge thanks to you all.
