St Fergus NS Clothing Collection Appeal: We would like to thank all those who contributed to our Clothing Collection, which will be collected by the company on Monday next the 22nd April.  We would also like to thank Glin GAA for facilitating our collection.  Without them, we would be unable to do it.

Mark Fleming Memorial Charity, Cars and Coffee Meet:  A cars and coffee meet will take place at the Ferry Car park, Tarbert on this Sunday April 21st. EVERYONE is welcome to the event and there will be ample parking for spectators, with Tarbert Power Station allowing the use of their car park.  All proceeds of this event will be for the SADS department in The Mater Hospital.

Glin Church: Painting continues at the church and for the next number of weeks Wednesday and Friday Masses will be said in Cloverfield Day Care Centre at 10am for the duration of the painting.  All welcome to attend.

Glin Bord Na nOg: are holding their annual Church Gate Collection this Sunday 21st April.  All support is greatly appreciated to help with the running of the underage club.

Congratulations to U13 player Dan Healy on securing a place on the U14 Limerick Desmond Kennedy Cup squad.

Car Boot Sale – An Official CAR BOOT SALE fundraiser takes place Sunday 21st in aid of Milford Care Centre in Newcastle West. All proceeds are going to Milford Care Centre. 

Cloverfield Glin Singing Night with Supper Mon 22/4/24 Cloverfield, Glin, welcome back Barrett’s Singing Night with supper at Cloverfield Glin Daycare Centre (V94 K5D5) starting 8pm sharp on MONDAY 22/4/2024. We look forward to seeing the regular singers as well as some new faces for another enjoyable evening hosted by John and Maureen Barrett. All are welcome at Cloverfield.

Tarbert Comprehensive School Bingo: Your afternoon support on this Sunday 21st April at 3pm in the School Assembly Hall would be most welcomed by the Parents Association and by Tarbert Comprehensive School – bring a friend, bring the family for some bingo fun. Raffle Tickets sold on the day for some lovely spot prizes. 

Monday Morning Club – Cloverfield Glin are delighted to invite you to join us again at our Monday Morning Club from 10am.  Our first Monday FunDay Dance-based movement at 10am with Annmarie Carthy was good for body & soul. Everyone moved at their own pace suiting the movers and groovers just as well as it suited those who sat and swayed to the music. Mary Enright led the Bingo at 11am and there were plenty of cash prizes. Fantastic to see faces from Glin, Tarbert, Loughill, Ballyhahill, Shanagolden, Foynes and looking forward to seeing more new faces on Monday 22/4/24 for 10am Dance-based movement followed by board games and cards at 11am. All welcome at Cloverfield Glin Homes Daycare.

The Ace of Hearts: Cloverfield Wednesday Mens Social Group. Tea, coffee, chat, newspapers and a game of cards.10:30am on Wednesday mornings. All welcome.

Glin Baby and Toddler Group opens every Friday during school term from 10am in Ceol Corbrai Hall. Family contribution €3. We look forward to seeing everyone.

Glin Tidy Towns: Our weekly Saturday morning clean ups still take place, meeting outside Glin Library at 11am. All welcome.

Activity at Glin Library: Craft Group. meets *fortnightly* (1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month at 10.30am. Open to all ages and abilities. Class is Free. Community Singing Group: meets every Tuesday from 11.30am. All welcome. Contribution box in place. Facilitated by Bernie Hayes, Askeaton/Ballysteen. The Book Group. meets monthly on the last Wednesday & Thursday of the month April 24th & 25th. All welcome. Class is Free. All events take place in Glin Library & everyone is welcome. A special word of ‘Thanks’ to our Librarian Deirdre who has a welcome for everyone & has encouraged all these events.

Glin Knights Visitor Centre: is now open once again for the summer months. from 10am to 5pm.  Lr. Main Street Glin, next door to Glin Library. Fee to the public.

The Movers Exercise Programme: is now in full swing every Tuesday in Ceol Corbrai Hall. To book a spot call Darragh 089 4080925. Booking is essential. 

Margaret Madigan; What an honour and achievement! Glin woman, Margaret Madigan, has been honoured for her 40 years of service in the Civil Defence. Margaret has given freely of her time over many years to the Civil Defence and her dedication and commitment are a testament to her. Well done Margaret.   Margaret Madigan of Ballyguiltenane Glin Co. Limerick recently celebrated 40 years of service with Limerick City and County Civil Defence. Margaret was among 100 of her comrades to receive long service medals from Tánaiste and Minister of Defence Micheál Martin TD earlier this month. The medal ceremony took place in Trinity College Dublin and medals were awarded to members from across the country. Speaking at the event, the Tánaiste said: “I am delighted to formally honour the long and distinguished years of service of these Civil Defence members with the award of long service medals. As we see on a constant basis, the Civil Defence plays an essential role in so many aspects of daily life, whether responding to search and rescue, flooding or other events”.
